Lee Kang-in (24, Paris Saint-Germain) added another trophy, showing his "instinct to win." He won the French Ligue 1 title early on.

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Ange 1-0 at home in the 28th round of the first round of the 2024-2025 season at Parc des Princes in Paris, France on Sunday (Korea time). With the victory, the team accumulated 74 points (22 wins and six draws), widening its gap with second-ranked AS Monaco to 22. Regardless of the outcome of the remaining matches, it topped the league.
The victory marked PSG's fourth consecutive victory and 13th career league 1 top.

On the day, PSG coach Luis Enrique deployed a 4-3-3 formation. Desiree Due, Gonzalo Hamus, and Khvicha Kvaracellia were at the forefront of the team, while Fabian Luiz, Vitinya, and Warren Zairemeri composed the midfielders. Lee Kang-in has been excluded from the roster. After injuring his ankle in the A-match against Oman last month, Lee is focusing on recovery. He recently returned to team training, but has opted to take rest rather than playing too much. It was also considered that PSG is already on the verge of winning the title.

The coach seems to have made bold rotation on the day with Aston Villa in mind for the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals scheduled for this week. Usman Dembele, Bradley Barcola and João Neves were also excluded from the starting list for rotation.

PSG led the game. The winning goal was scored in the 10th minute of the second half. The ball cleared by Angé defense was connected to Hbicha, who scored an accurate cross. Due, who was rushing, finished with a right footed shot and scored the winning goal.  

Lee Kang-in has collected five trophies since he wore a PSG uniform.

Joining his team in the 2023-2024 season, he has achieved three victories in Ligue 1, the French Super Cup (Trope de Champion) and the French Cup (Coup de France) in just one season. In addition to the titles of the Ligue 1 and the Super Cup this season, he has increased the number of PSG trophies to five.

He also had experience of winning the title before PSG. In the 2018-2019 season, he won the Copa del Rey for Valencia. Even after moving to the team, he holds the trophy every season, establishing himself as a symbol of victory.  

Lee Kang-in also won the gold medal for the national team. At the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, he contributed to winning the gold medal as a member of the South Korean U-23 national team led by coach Hwang Sun-hong. He also received special military service benefits.

PSG is aiming even higher this season. If it does not lose in the remaining league games, it will acquire the title without losing. As the French Cup final and the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals are also scheduled, PSG can also pursue quadruple wins in the league, French Cup, Champions League, and Super Cup.
